Monterrey, NL. The booster vaccination day for the educational personnel of Nuevo León began this Wednesday, January 12, with the goal of immunizing with a dose of the Moderna vaccine to 126,000 workers education in public and private schools in eight vaccination points, in seven municipalities.
State and federal authorities, from the Correcaminos Brigade and from the Autonomous University of Nuevo León supervise the start of this day, in the Multipurpose Auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine of the UANL.
This Tuesday, January 11, the governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García Sepúlveda stressed that there are no news:
“We continue with the hybrid, mixed and voluntary model in all schools, we hope that tomorrow 126,000 vaccines will be applied to education personnel in eight points. Nuevo León thanks you for supporting education for two years, even paying for cell phones, to teach virtual classes.
During the start of the vaccination day, the state Secretary of Education, Sofialeticia Morales Garza, stated that this reinforcement campaign occurs at a strategic moment for Nuevo León, where prudence and co-responsibility in the care of minors are at the center.
Prudence, he said, implies a commitment not to let learning continue to be lost because children are outside the educational sphere.
“This vaccination of teachers is also a recognition of that work that they have followed for almost two years, the commitment from their homes, from connection points, sometimes putting their own resources, and not leaving the educational process helpless. We have to start from the fact that among all of us we take care of ourselves, ”said the official.
For her part, the state delegate for Development Programs in Nuevo León, Blanca Judith Díaz Delgado, said that there are enough doses of vaccines so that they are not lacking in Nuevo León, where more than 7.5 million vaccines have been applied with first and second doses.
In turn, the Secretary of Health, Alma Rosa Marroquín Escamilla, stated that at the moment more than 80% of people in the state have the complete vaccination schedule and more than 100,000 people, half of whom are minors, have benefited from the Cross-Border Vaccination Program.
As will be recalled, from April 27 to May 5, 2021, a dose of the biological CanSino was applied to workers in the educational sector of Nuevo León: teachers, administrative staff and support staff in educational institutions.
