NS Driver Charged After Hitting Pedestrian At Spryfield – Halifax Crosswalk | The Canadian News

Halifax Regional Police charged a woman after striking a pedestrian at a crosswalk in Spryfield.

In a statement, police say they responded to the 330 Herring Cove Road area around 5:23 p.m. Friday.

“A pedestrian was being treated by members of the public who had stopped to help and then Emergency Health Services,” he said.

“The driver was at the scene and an investigation concluded that they did not stop for the pedestrian while they were in a crosswalk with flashing amber lights.”

According to the statement, the driver received a fine under the motor vehicle law for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

Pedestrian injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
