According to Kevin Dean, a fire chief for the Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency district, the pilot was coming from the eastern part of the province and heading to Boston when the plane ran out of power.

“I was going to bring him to Stanfield but he didn’t make it,” Dean said.

Dean described the scene as a “hard landing”, but a successful one. He said the pilot was uninjured and the plane had “minimal damage.”
