New VivaAerobus flight Cancun-Colombia announced

Mérida, Yucatán.– The Tourism Promotion Council of Quintana Roo (CPTQ) announced a new flight from Cancun to Colombia for the low-cost airline VivaAerobus.

A symbolic ribbon was cut inside the Mexican Caribbean Pavilion at the Tianguis Turístico de México that takes place in Mérida, with which it was confirmed that the flights will start on December 16.

The announced flight consolidates Colombia as the main South American country issuing visitors to the Mexican Caribbean, we appreciate the commitment of VivaAerobus that has been a great ally of Quintana Roo during the process of tourist reactivation ”, commented the general director of the CPTQ, Darío Flota Ocampo .

In 2019, 238, 333 Colombian passengers arrived in Quintana Roo, which represented almost 40% of the total number of Colombians who arrived in Mexico. From January to August 2021 there is a record of more than 114,000 passengers from Colombia who have arrived in Quintana Roo, according to data from the Strategic Planning area of ​​the CPTQ.

During this second day of activities, the CPTQ held meetings with tour operators, online travel agencies, as well as airlines and the media at the Tianguis Turístico.
