New members of the Board of Directors of the IMSS Foundation represent the best of the Institute’s involvement in the pandemic

Within the framework of the 18th. Ordinary Session of the General Assembly of Associates of the IMSS Foundation, AC, headed by the general director of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), Master Zoé Robledo, the new Board of Directors was approved, made up of researchers, businessmen and officials, which From their public position they have collaborated with the IMSS at key moments.

Zoé Robledo indicated that it is significant that the new Board of Directors represents the best of the IMSS Foundation and the best of the IMSS relationship during the pandemic.

“There are old friends and friends, but there are people who were by the side of the IMSS when it was needed, at the most critical moment in its history, more than the earthquakes, more than the other pandemics, even more than the moments of financial crisis of the Institute, there is no doubt that these last two years have been the most challenging moment and you were there”, he stressed.

In his message, the Secretary of Health, Jorge Alcocer Varela, stated that the scope of action of the IMSS Foundation should be expanded to respond to changes in the work of Mexican science and encourage professionals to participate in this practice.

The scientific contributions would benefit the patients of the entire health sector that “continues to reduce its geographical limits, its separation, in search of its integration,” he indicated.

He said that through IMSS-Wellness there will be the conditions so that from there the development of programs to support science in favor of the communities will be promoted.

In his participation, the rector of UNAM, Dr. Enrique Graue Wiechers, pointed out that the two years of pandemic that Mexico has experienced have been difficult for everyone, especially for the country’s medical and paramedical staff, in a very particular way for the Insurance Social.

Valenzuela del Río stressed that a solid Foundation is delivered in financial terms, for which everything is duly audited and made transparent. “The most important legacy that any of us can have is to see that this is going to have the capacity to continue with enormous vigor and capacity to help Mexico,” he stressed.
