New Brunswick Health Minister Dorothy Shephard and Health Medical Director Dr. Jennifer Russell are scheduled to have a COVID-19 briefing on Friday afternoon.
The event begins at 2:30 pm and will be broadcast live here.
As of Thursday, the province had 691 active COVID-19 cases.
Shephard has previously said that people should stop planning for the holidays for now, as the number of new cases remains high and community transmission persists.
“We don’t want to cancel Christmas,” Shephard said Thursday.
“I don’t know how to convey to the public that we need your support to follow public health measures. We should know something by Monday. “
He reminded people to follow public health measures, such as physical distancing, the use of masks and vaccination.
