An attempt to deliver narcotics by drone was intercepted on Sunday at the Quebec detention facility.

The Sûreté du Québec is investigating the case.
Following the report of a drone near the Quebec City Detention Center, police officers from the SQ of the Capitale-Nationale highway station, the MRC de la Jacques-Cartier and the Service de police de Québec (SVPQ) searched the area.
The SPVQ police officers finally located the device on the ground as well as narcotics. Quickly, another SQ policeman arrested an individual in a nearby field, as well as his vehicle near the scene.
The suspect, a 32-year-old man from Mascouche, was arrested for drug trafficking. He was released and he should appear later at the Quebec courthouse.
During this operation, the police notably seized nearly 700 grams of cannabis, as well as a small quantity of cocaine and crystal methamphetamine.
