More than 200,000 million pesos have been financed in Biva

Despite the fact that this year continued to be complex due to the health contingency, the financing channeled to companies from different sectors and under different financial instruments, through the Institutional Stock Exchange (Biva), continued to flow and already exceeds 200,000 million pesos.

This was stated by María Ariza, general director of the stock market in a virtual conference on the occasion of the debt issuance of Engen Capital. During the event, the board of directors stressed that this has been a good year, so this inertia “will lead to a more solid 2022, with good expectations and a good emissions pipeline”.

“We will close 2021 with the announcement of a new placement of shares, which in Mexico we need so much at this juncture that has been very complex nationally and internationally (…) We have had very good issues this year, both from new issuers , new names that have been the result of several years of work and recurring issuers that have given Biva the opportunity to make their broadcast ”, highlighted María Ariza.

The new issuer that will arrive in the stock market next February with an Initial Public Offering of shares is Globcash, dedicated to the pawn business, with operations in Mexico and Guatemala.

In 2021, through Biva, short and long-term corporate debt has been issued, as well as labeled bonds. Development Capital Certificates (CKD) and Investment Project Certificates (Cerpis) were also placed.

Some outstanding issues are the launch of the first Covid-19 Recovery and Reactivation Social Bond by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) for 5,000 million pesos, as well as the green bonds issued by Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), for an amount of 1,500 million pesos.

The Institute of the National Fund for the Consumption of Workers (Fonacot) also issued thematic bonds under the social seal of gender, with its two issues raised around 4,000 million pesos and Trusts Instituted in Relation to Agriculture (FIRA) placed its first gender bonus.

Stock market, a real financing option

María Ariza explained that they have found companies that already see the stock market as a “real option” for financing, so they continue to work to attract more issuers and seek new investors and underwriters.

He said there are positive prospects for Mexico next year and investment opportunities. In addition, there are companies in confidentiality that also hope to make a listing in Biva.

Javier Perochena, director of Relations with Issuers in said Stock Exchange, in the same event, stressed that in these last weeks of the year new issues are about to be finalized, among them, some real estate investment trusts (Fibras), as well as the placement of long-term corporate debt.

“There are a few weeks left this year, we hope they will be moved, we bring some placement of long-term debt and some Fibras that are about to come out at the end of this year and early next, four Fibras specifically. Rather than close strong this 2021 we see with very good eyes what is coming for 2022 “, said Perochena.
