Modernization of Monterrey-Colombia and Salinas Victoria-Industrial Zone highways will cost 1,500 million pesos

In order to trigger regional development, attract investment and connect the metropolitan area with the northern border, the local Mobility Secretariat advances in the projects for the modernization of Monterrey-Colombia highways and of Salinas Victoria-Industrial Zoneand a global budget of 1,500 million pesos is contemplated, said the Secretary of Mobility and Urban Planning, Hernán Villarreal Rodríguez.

“The Monterrey-Colombia highway is one of the most important roads, due to its impact on the development of the state, connecting the south of the country and the metropolitan area with the northern border. Modernizing will favor national and international trade with the expansion of customs in Colombia and will trigger regional development, the attraction of investment and will reduce costs and transfer times, “said the official.

The tender for the highway Monterrey-Colombia was launched on May 11, which considers the works in sections II and III, the first includes the expansion of the road by approximately 2.50 meters, on each side, by 9.30 kilometers, as well as the rectification of its horizontal alignment and vertical.

In addition to dirt works, hydraulic concrete pavements, drainage works, slopes and horizontal and vertical signs.

In section III, 12 meters in 35.4 kilometers of State Highway 1 will be rehabilitated and rebuilt, consisting of five rehabilitation works using a 29-centimeter-thick concrete slab, on the current body of the pavement.

“Investment in the road Monterrey- Colombiain its current rehabilitation, in what has to do with the new road, the Gloria-Colombia, is around 4,000 million pesos, but it is a multi-year project”, explained Villarreal Rodríguez.

For its part, the Interserrana highway costs around 11,000 million pesos, but (its construction) will encompass the entire administration, Gloria-Colombia from two to three years and the Interserrana, five years.

“That is why it is urgent to start immediately to leave finished works in the administration and in the case of Gloria-Colombia prepared to receive international trade that comes from Colombian customs,” the official emphasized.

Extension

Next week the decision on the tender for the expansion of the Salinas Victoria highway to Industrial Zonewhich is in process.

The works of this road consist of the expansion of four lanes, in a length of 10.64 kilometers, as well as drainage works, design of asphalt concrete pavements, signs and protection of works.

And next Friday the tender for the extension of 12.36 kilometers will be published to continue the modernization of the current Monterrey-Colombia Highway.
