Microsoft says Duo 2 is coming to Canada as some reports canceled pre-orders

Like some Canadians report issues With pre-orders for the Surface Duo 2, Microsoft insists the phone will still make its way to Canada.

“Surface Duo 2 is coming to Canada,” a Microsoft spokesperson said. MobileSyrup in response to questions about the status of Duo 2 pre-orders.

Those questions came after some readers shared on Twitter that Microsoft canceled its Duo 2 pre-orders after changing the Surface Duo 2 to ‘Coming Soon’ on its website.

Plus, that change came just hours after the company announced the Surface Duo 2 at its Surface event in September. The company previously confirmed to MobileSyrup that the Duo 2 would be coming to Canada, with pre-order opening on September 22. Additionally, the phone would be available to buy at a pricey $ 1,899 starting October 21, based on US availability.

I wrote a post about how this was a great move after the late arrival of the original Surface Duo to Canada; it all went downhill after that. Shortly after publishing that post, Microsoft’s website stopped allowing people to reserve the phone.

A week later, Microsoft’s website still lists the Surface Duo 2 as ‘Coming Soon’. For now, it seems Canadians interested in getting the Duo 2 are only reassured by Microsoft’s continued insistence that the Duo 2 will arrive in Canada at some point.
