Mexico will respond to arms companies in the US on January 31, reports SRE

After this Monday in USA began to respond legally some of the arms companies denounced by the government of Mexico, the Ministry of Foreign Relations (SRE) indicated that on January 31, 2022, it will respond to these and other considerations of the 11 companies denounced.

It should be noted that this Monday the company Smith & Wesson, one of the 11 demanded by the government of Mexico ante la Massachusetts District Court due to negligent and illegal practices that contribute to the illicit trafficking of arms to our country, he replied that he had not been able to prove responsibility in that reported case.

In this regard, Secretary of Foreign Relations indicated that the 11 US arms producers, distributors and sellers responded to the claim that the Government of Mexico filed against him in Massachusetts Court.

He recalled that the defendants presented defenses to try to stop the litigation.

“The WED, in coordination with other federal agencies, prepares the arguments and evidence to respond to the court to the defenses of the defendant companies.

“The Government of Mexico it will present its reply on January 31, 2022 and, subsequently, the companies will deliver a counter reply to the Court on February 28 of that same year ”, indicated the Mexican Foreign Ministry.

“Such allegations will be addressed precisely in the reply brief and before the court. In no way will this case be litigated in the media ”, stated the WED.

The defendant companies are: Colt’s Manufacturing Company; Barrett Firearms Manufacturing; Beretta USA; Smith & Wesson; Century International Arms; Glock Ges. Mb H; Sturm, Ruger & Co; Beretta Holding; Glock, Inc; Interstate Arms and Witmer Public Safety Group.
