It is not true, as the ruling party says, that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s tour of Central America and Cuba ends four decades of absence from Mexico due, obviously, to neoliberalism.
In 1983, with Ronald Reagan in the White House at the height of his power, President Miguel de la Madrid invited other nations to found the Contadora Group which, without US influence, began to manage Central American peace.
With the current tour Mexico returns to a region plagued by poverty, the President has the opportunity to recover, not an ambiguous ideological leadership, simply a unifying leadership to combat poverty and inequality.
CDMX: risky way of being different
If the Government of the Republic does not dare to exercise its legitimate and constitutional right to use force, we should not be surprised that the Government of CDMX leaves thousands of citizens defenseless for more than twelve hours.
Yesterday in Topilejo they blocked the highway to Cuernavaca neighbors outraged by the arrest of people who intended to lynch a person. They did not lift the blockade until they were released. You know, to take the party in peace.
Dr. Sheinbaum needs to be careful. For leading the party in peace 18 years ago, she allowed a mob of criminals to lynch and burn two federal policemen alive. Something similar would be politically deadly for her.
No margin for error the anti-inflation plan
The head of the SHCP, Rogelio Ramírez de la O, will have to be very attentive to prevent the plan so carefully designed for the President from being sabotaged by palace intrigues and the evident ineptitude of so many officials.
There are customs and security issues that are obviously out of his control, but he must not allow mistakes or nonsense, because if he does not report them immediately to the President, there will be someone who will whisper in his ear: “it was Rogelio.”
If the people of the SHCP do not report for fear of angering the President, they would imagine what will happen if someone else blames them for keeping quiet. He already told himself. In matters like this, it is better once colored than a thousand discolored or defenestrated.

Surely they have already opened an investigation folder even in the Federal Government… Now it turns out that the “investigation” of the murder in Iguala of the 43 normalistas led to the arrest of an alleged culprit, the leader of the “Guerreros Unidos” criminal gang. With regret, but what is the difference between the “new historical truth” and the “old historical truth”? That politicking managed to free all the allegedly guilty detainees… Nobody should be scared. True, the United States Senate approved a point of agreement that is very critical of the Government of Mexico, but the points of agreement are as irrelevant there as those that are approved here… If centralism continues, the last year of this Government or, if Morena wins in 2024, his first year will be declared the “Year of Don Lucas Alamán, the great conservative of the 19th century”… The North American Laura Preble leaves us this pearl: “Making people believe that everything was their idea, is the formula effectiveness of great leaders to deceive the people” ..
