Mexico registers 3,614 cases of Covid-19 and 282 deaths

The Health Secretary (Ssa) updated this Friday to 3 million 821,830 the number of cases of Covid-19 confirmed to have accumulated in Mexico during the pandemic, while the official death toll from SARS-CoV-2 rose to 289,413.

Compared with the numbers reported by health authorities yesterday, these increases mean that as of today there were 3,614 infections and 282 deaths.

In the country there are 22,133 active cases (those that presented symptoms in the recent 14 days and are still contagious), which results in an incidence rate of 17.2 per 100,000 inhabitants. The estimated number is 23,460 active cases.

The 10 states with the highest incidence rates in the country are Baja California, Guanajuato, Mexico City (which leads the list of most active cases), Coahuila, Yucatán, Querétaro, Tabasco, Sonora, Aguascalientes and Chihuahua.

The health department recalled that, despite the advances in the epidemiological traffic light, it is important to preserve the healthy distance measures, the use of face masks and frequent hand washing, as well as ventilation in closed places.
