Mexico adds 287 new deaths from Covid-19 and 3,146 infections in the last 24 hours

The death toll from the Covid-19 in Mexico It amounted to 194,715 this Thursday, after 287 new deaths were registered, according to the daily technical report on the progress of the pandemic prepared by the Ministry of Health.

The federal agency detailed that in the last 24 hours 3,146 new infections of this disease were notified, so the accumulated number of confirmed cases of coronavirus is 3 million 894,364, since the epidemic arrived in the country.

Meanwhile, the health authorities estimate 21,579 active cases nationwide, that is, people who presented symptoms of Covid-19 in the last 14 days.

The hospital capacity to care for patients with this disease remained unchanged compared to yesterday’s report. The occupancy of general beds is 17%, while that of beds with a fan is 14%.

In the daily technical report it was also detailed that 3 million 250,478 people have recovered from Covid-19.

Vaccination against Covid-19 in Mexico

At the cutoff on Wednesday, December 1, the Ministry of Health reported that it supplied 415,326 vaccines against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, to reach a total of 133 million 256,228 doses applied since the vaccination plan began on December 24, 2020 .

The federal government detailed that of the 77 million 366,309 people who have been vaccinated in the country against Covid-19, 65 million 166,868 people have a complete scheme of one or two doses, depending on the type of biological applied. Meanwhile, 12 million 199,441 have a half vaccination schedule.

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced this Thursday morning that this month he will start the application of the booster dose of vaccines against Covid-19 for older adults.

In his morning conference, the federal president stressed that the application of the booster doses will be carried out thanks to the fact that the objective of vaccinating the majority of people over 18 years of age, with at least one dose, has already been met.
