Mexico accumulates 3 million 961,662 cases of Covid-19 and 299,132 deaths

The Ministry of Health reported that as of this Wednesday, December 29, Mexico accumulates a total of 3 million 961,662 cases of coronavirus and 299,132 deaths.

The data released this Tuesday represents 5,290 cases and 188 deaths from Covid-19 more than those reported on Monday, December 27, when the previous technical report was published.

The incidence rate of cumulative coronavirus cases in Mexico it is 3,071.7 per 100,000 inhabitants, reported the Ministry of Health in its Covid-19 Daily Technical Report.

Regarding the distribution by sex of the confirmed cases of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, the report shows a predominance in women (50.2%) and an average age of 39 years.

The federal agency indicated that the entities that accumulate the most number of Covid-19 cases in Mexico are:

  • Mexico City
  • Mexico state
  • New Lion
  • Guanajuato
  • Jalisco
  • Tabasco
  • Puebla
  • Veracruz
  • Sonora
  • San Luis Potosi

These 10 states together make up 65% of all accumulated cases in the country.

On the other hand, the Health Secretary reported that at the court this Wednesday there are 25,718 active cases registered, that is, those positive cases that began with symptoms in the last 14 days.

Vaccination

According to the Ministry of Health, this Tuesday, December 28, 126,491 were applied vaccines against Covid-19, with which a total of 148 million 689,393 vaccines have been supplied in the 32 states since December 24, 2020.

In Mexico, 81 million 915,851 people have been immunized with at least one dose against Covid-19, reports the Daily Technical Report. Of this total, 72 million 751,888 have completed the vaccination scheme and 9 million 163,963 have a dose.
