Mexicans will use more fintech services

A survey carried out by the fintech yotepresto showed that in 2022 Mexicans will use more financial technology services, given the confidence and optimism that exists in this ecosystem.

According to their survey “Fintech 21-22: trends”, 54% of those interviewed will use more services of this type; while 37.7% will maintain their current levels of consumption, and only 8.3% expressed disenchantment with a product and therefore will reduce its use in the year that has just started.

Despite the crisis, in 2021 Mexico continued to consolidate itself as one of the main fintech ecosystems in the Latin American region, growing 16% and reaching 512 startups, according to the most recent Fintech Radar prepared by Finnovista with the collaboration of Inter-American Development Bank and the Pacific Alliance.

The loan category is the main one within the fintech sector in Mexico, with 21% participation, followed by payments and remittances with 18%, and technology companies for financial entities with 11%, according to Finnovista.

The survey by yotepresto, a fintech specialized in collective financing or crowdfunding, mentions that the majority of Mexicans plan to use financial technology companies to invest, given that 48.1% answered that they will register on a platform for that purpose. They followed him: saving with 25.8%; seek financing with 23.1%, and consolidate or transfer debts with 18.1 percent.
