From next Sunday and until September 15 all shops located in the neighborhoods of Barcelona of more tourist influx they will be able to open from 12:00 to 20:00 hours. The city council has determined two zones, 1 and 2, based on the map that was already drawn up to make the special urban plan for tourist accommodation in Barcelona (Peuat). They cover Ciutat Vella and the Eixample, but also some neighborhoods in other districts, which can be consulted on this interactive map.
The measure comes after a historic agreement of employers, unions and administrations to take advantage of the special arrival of visitors to the city in those months, which has been endorsed by the Government. Its implementation aims to boost the economy of these areas, after the crisis due to the pandemic, and turn Barcelona into a first purchase destinationyes The pact also commits to complying with the contracting and labor conditions agreed with the unions.
