While knocking on the door Sunday, Morantz said voters are not happy going to the polls after just two years.

“The first thing I hear at the door is, ‘Why are we having these elections?’ People are very angry with these elections, they do not understand why we are holding them, ”Morantz said.

Morantz, a former city councilman and attorney, said Justin Trudeau’s minority government was stable and could pass laws.

However, Eyolfson said the current parliament does not work for the country.

“The government has too many things that they want to do, that they need to do, to help Canadians and the only way to do that is a clear mandate from Canadians to do this,” Eyolfson said as he knocked on the door in another area of riding.

Eyolfson, a physician, said health and safety are among the top concerns he hears from voters, while the liberal child care plan is one part of the platform that is being welcomed.

“Erin O’Toole has said she doesn’t believe in our child care initiative, she will break it. He does not believe in mandatory vaccinations. Those are two very important things that are very important to Canadians, ”Eyolfson said.

But Morantz said that in addition to being upset with the snap elections, he is hearing different concerns while campaigning.

“They are concerned about their future and that is why on our platform we have said that we are going to ensure the future of Canadians,” said Morantz. “We’re going to get young people back to work, we’re going to get small businesses back on their feet, we’re going to make the economy grow.”
