Montreal police intend to question a suspect after the discovery early Tuesday of a seriously injured man at a residence on Plateau-Mont-Royal.

Officers went to the residence on Hutchison St. near Pine Ave. after receiving a 911 call at 5 a.m. reporting the man had been injured.
The victim suffered upper-body injuries, police said. He was rushed to the hospital with injuries described as life-threatening.
A suspect has been detained and is expected to be questioned later that day. While the incident remains under investigation, police spokeswoman Véronique Comtois said enough items were found at the scene to suggest that investigators are dealing with “a criminal act.”
A crime scene has been set up at the scene and police are interviewing witnesses and examining surveillance camera recordings in an effort to establish what happened.
