A man was rushed to hospital after he was shot multiple times in Scarborough Tuesday night, Toronto police said.

Emergency crews were called to the Scarborough Golf Club Road and Lawrence Avenue East area around 7:30 p.m. to receive reports of a shooting.

Police said on Twitter that officers arrived at the scene and located a man who suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

He was rushed to the hospital through an emergency run.

Toronto paramedics told Global News they transported the victim to hospital in a serious but not life-threatening condition.

There is no information on any suspect.

Police said an investigation into the incident is underway.
