Man, 20s, missing after falling into Ouareau River in Rawdon

A man in his twenties is missing after falling into the Ouareau River in Rawdon, in Lanaudière, on Friday afternoon.

The victim lost his footing on a rock in Parc des Cascades before being carried away by the current, according to the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Stéphane Tremblay.

Patrolmen combed the banks at 4:45 pm, SQ fire department boats continued to search the river.

An SQ helicopter was also dispatched to the scene.

The search was interrupted at nightfall Friday evening, but should resume on Saturday morning with the SQ divers.
