Man, 20, charged with killing his girlfriend, 19, in Thornhill last spring

A man is now accused of killing his teenage girlfriend five months ago in Thornhill.

York Regional Police say officers responded to a home on North Park Rd. – near Bathurst and Center Sts. – around 8 a.m. on May 6 after a 911 caller reported that his girlfriend was not breathing.

“When the agents arrived, they located a 19-year-old woman who was declared dead at the scene,” said Const. Laura Nicolle said Wednesday.

“After post-mortem examination by the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service, the death was determined to have been a homicide,” he explained.

The woman’s boyfriend was arrested on October 13.

Raphael Banon, 20, of Vaughan, is charged with second degree murder.
