Madrid es Moda will pay tribute to artisans in its next edition


Madrid is Fashion (MeM)an initiative led by ACME under the umbrella of the Madrid City Council’s Madrid Fashion Capital platform, has announced the dates of its next edition and advances part of its programming. Once again opening Madrid Fashion Week and completing the calendar of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid parades, Madrid is Fashion will be held from March 6 to 14. this time will give visibility to the stories and magic hidden by Spanish creators and artisans, one of the great heritages of our country. The ultimate goal of this event will once again ber bringing Spanish designer fashion closer to the street to enhance their knowledge and consumption through original events and appointments with fashion.

Madrid is Fashion will have the participation of ACROMATYX, Beatriz Peñalver, Devota & Lomba, Duyos, Eduardo Navarrete, Ernesto Naranjo, García Madrid, Gonzales, JC Pajares, Juana Martín, Juanjo Oliva, Malne, Mané Mané, Marcos Luengo, Miguel Marinero, Odette Álvarez, Oteyza, Roberto Verino, The 2nd Skin CO or The Extreme Collection among others.

Under the motto of ‘Knowing does’in this installment Madrid es Moda focuses its gaze and emotion on the artisans who build Spanish author fashion every day, contribute value differential and work from the preservation, respect and sustainability. Madrid es Moda wants to give them visibility, value their work and tell their present and future history.

In defense of the trades

This edition, Madrid es Moda also reflects on the need to defend the fashion trades (pattern making, embroidery, sewing…) and ensure their survival in future generations thanks to the essential and urgent search for and training of the artisans of tomorrow.

Madrid es Moda opens its edition with a street event open to the public -of which all the details will be known soon- and that will present the designers’ collections in a very special way.

After this starting signal, a week dedicated exclusively to Spanish slow fashion that will have the Serrería Belga as its main venue, transformed into The Madrid House is Fashion. Meeting point for fans of Spanish fashion, the collections will be known there through an exhibition space that will change daily and will host an extensive program of talks, activities and collection presentations.
