The General Prosecutor of the Republic (FGR) assured that to date, the former director of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), Emilio Lozoya, has not complied with the reparation of the damage that he promised in the cases Odebrecht Y Agronitrogenatedfor which the Prosecutor’s Office has not provided a criterion of opportunity.
The FGR He said that in the Odebrecht case. Lozoya “has not complied with the reparation of the damage that is mandatory in the case. The procedure continues without any procedural benefit.”
It should be remembered that the former director of Pemex is linked to criminal association, money laundering and bribery proceedings in the Odebrecht case for allegedly receiving bribes in exchange for granting public works contracts to this construction company.
While in the Agronitrogenados case, “it has not complied with the repair of the damage that is mandatory. Assets subject to asset forfeiture are seized. The criminal procedure continues without any procedural benefit.”
It should be noted that Emilio Lozoya offered through his defense a reparation agreement consisting of 10.2 million dollars (7 million 385,000 dollars for the criminal proceeding Odebrecht and 3 million 400,000 for Agronitrogenated), so that the Attorney General of the Republic suspends the two criminal proceedings against him for the crimes of money laundering, bribery and criminal association, with which he could leave the North Prison where he has been imprisoned since last November 3.
Likewise, the FGR recalled that the former director of Pemex has an open process for an alleged debt with the Tax Administration Service (SAT), a fact for which on April 19, during the judicial hearing, Lozoya offered -through his lawyer Alejandro Rojas- to compensate 2 million 695,985 pesos that he allegedly did not declare before the SAT in 2016 for the Income tax (ISR).
“In the case of a tax debt of Emilio “L”, for payment of taxes, said payment has been managed through the Tax Attorney of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, a situation that is in process. This payment of taxes has no link of any nature, nor connection of any kind with the two previous cases”, clarified the FGR.
