L’Oréal will close stores in Russia, but will maintain operations of its factory near Moscow

The global cosmetics giant The real announced Tuesday that it has decided to close its brand-managed stores in Russia as well as its directly managed sites in the country’s department stores, but its factory located near Moscow will continue to produce.

This factory, opened in 2010 in the Kaluga region, south of Moscow, manufactures shampoos and dyes, as well as hygiene and baby products.

The group further indicates that it “suspended all industrial and advertising investments” in Russia.

L’Oréal joins the various American and European companies that have decided to suspend their operations in Russia, after President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24 a special military operation in Ukraine.
