London, Ont. firefighters fight apartment and house fire Wednesday night – London | The Canadian News

A number of residential fires kept first aid workers in London, Ont., busy on Wednesday night.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m., the London Fire Brigade said alarms in a high-rise apartment building had alerted them to a fire at 200 Berkshire Dr., near Springbank Drive and Wonderland Road South.

The fire was on the first floor and was quickly extinguished, officials said.

No injuries were reported.

Meanwhile, just after 8:30 p.m., teams began fighting a house fire at 117 Riverside Dr., just off Wharncliffe Road North.

Smoke and flames could be seen from the road as teams pulled up and firefighters completely extinguished the flames within half an hour.

The occupants escaped safely from the house and the London Fire Brigade said they were working with emergency management to help them.

No injuries were reported in either fire.

Damages are not yet available for any of the incidents and the causes of the fires are still being investigated.
