Ajax native Deandre Kerr, 19, scored his first goal at BMO Field to give TFC a 1-0 lead in the first half. But the Fire jumped ahead 2-1 lead in the second before Pozuelo recorded his brace. The Fire’s goals were scored by Carlos Terán and Kacper Przybylko.

Despite the win, the Fire was the better team for most of the match and missed numerous chances to add to their total as the Toronto players were out-worked for much of the game and looked lost defensively. Toronto goalkeeper Quentin Westberg made some big saves to help give his side the victory.

The victory snapped a six-game MLS winless streak for TFC, though the result also represented the 22nd consecutive match without a shut-out for Toronto – a club record.
