According to LPS, investigators believe the incident on Wednesday night was not random and that the suspect and the victim know each other.

Police say the incident began earlier in the day when a verbal altercation between the two turned into a physical one. One of the individuals left, but returned later that day, when another altercation began that resulted in the firing of the weapon.
