Leafs star Mitch Marner ‘doing well’ after carjacking in Etobicoke


Mitch Marner says he is “doing well” after he was carjacked at gunpoint near an Etobicoke movie theater on Monday night.

The Maple Leafs star released a statement less than 48 hours after the order, thanking fans, friends, and teammates for the support he has received.

“The overwhelming support I’ve felt from the Toronto community has been unbelievable,” the statement read.

A gunpoint robbery of the Leafs winger’s black Range Rover near left Marner “rattled,” his agent told the Star’s Kevin McGran after the incident.

Marner also thanks Toronto Police Services for their work in the investigation, which is ongoing and has not led to any arrests at this point.

“It was a scary situation to be in, but we’re safe and doing well,” Marner wrote.
