Leader of the CTM obtains victory in a union vote at the Harnesses and Accessories plant in Mexico

The decision of the workers -by free, direct and secret vote- gave total support to the cetemist Tereso Medina, obtaining 6,476 votes in favor of maintaining the same contract, and only 403 votes against.

It should be noted that the company Harnesses and Accessories from Mexico It is located in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuilaand its main function is to supply airbags for 45 brands in Mexico.

Regarding the voting process, the general secretary, Teresa Medina He stated that “there is a clear message from the workers to maintain their collective contract, because in addition, the Cetemista Union has been transformed and today it is closer to the workers and complying with the new rules set by the 2019 labor reform.”

The union leader in Coahuila and also a PRI deputy, commented at the time that around 180 legitimations have been carried out in his state, all backed by 90% or more of the votes of the workers, “who have not rejected any collective bargaining agreement,” he said. .

It should be noted that the results have already been notified to the Federal Center for Conciliation and Labor Registration (CFCRL), vigilant of the development of legitimation, in order to start with the process of ratification of the victory for the cetemistas.

To date, the CFCRL has legitimized 3,939 collective bargaining agreements throughout the country, in which 1.5 million workers have participated, and 8,183 voting events have been held.

According to data from the Federal Center, various legitimation processes are underway, including the 30 that will be carried out by the National Union of Workers in the Food, Refreshment, Tourism, Hotel, Gastronomy, Similar and Related Industries; or the 9 of the Nueva Walmart company with the National Union CHROME and eight more with Unions of the CTM with whom the self-service company also has contracts.

In this sense, the Federal Labor Center headed by Alfredo Domínguez Marrufo, recalled that the unions have before May 1, 2023 to carry out the legitimation process that implies not only responding to the 2019 Labor Reform, but also to the commitments assumed by Mexico within the framework of the Treaty with the United States and Canada (T-MEC).
