Kingston Santa Claus Night Parade Canceled For Second Year In A Row – Kingston | The Canadian News

Downtown Kingston announced Wednesday that this year’s Santa Claus Night Parade will not take place. This is the second year in a row that the parade has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The BIA said the decision was made after considerable consultation with KFL & A Public Health.

“We understand that this is a very beloved event; We are as disappointed as you that the event cannot move forward, but we are already looking forward to next year and making the Santa Parade of 2022 the best of all time, ”said the BIA.

This year, the Kingston center says it has been crafting new winter programming that will be COVID-compliant.

This includes a downtown Christmas market, light displays, Santa’s Village, with a “version of Santa” on display 24/7 for photography, winter patios, and a Window Wonderland contest for the companies of the center.
