Texas instrumental rockers Explosions in the Sky will end their Canadian tour at the Orpheum Theater on September 23. Tickets go on sale April 26 at 10 a.m. at livenation.com.

End is the seventh album by the group, known for their work on the soundtrack of the television series Friday Night Lights. The group has gone from an underground indie act to stadium headlining shows across North America and Australia.

The band will likely preview some new material they’re working on for a new TV series set to premiere in 2024.

Earplugs might be a good idea for this show, as previous concerts have been very loud.

The musical accompaniment for this summer’s SummerCamp Rib & Music Fest has not yet been released. But do you really need to know anything more than that? There’s a free event combining food, games and music for adults taking place at Vancouver’s Jonathan Rogers Park (110 W7th Ave.) from June 21-23.

The event is being held in support of the Lifted Organization, which supports local youth and mental health initiatives.

Jonathan Rogers Park has long been a favorite venue in the Mount Pleasant area and has hosted events ranging from Muralfest to a summer concert series. An additional event is also planned in Penticton.
