Joe Biden more “predictable” as president, according to Vladimir Putin

(Moscow) Vladimir Putin assured Wednesday that his American counterpart Joe Biden was more “predictable” for Moscow than his rival Donald Trump, but that Russia was ready to “work” with the winner of the presidential election in the United States, regardless of who ‘it be.

Asked by a reporter which president would be better for Russia, Mr. Putin replied: “Biden is a more experienced person. He’s predictable, he’s an old-fashioned politician.”

The Russian president, however, refused to comment on the debates in the United States on Mr. Biden’s age.

“When I met Mr. Biden in Switzerland, it was three years ago, it is true, there was already talk of his incapacity, but I saw nothing of the sort,” he said.

“What we need to look at is the political position and the position of the current (US) administration is extremely harmful and wrong,” Putin added.

Moscow “will work with any American leader the American people trust,” he said.

The presidential campaign in the United States was shaken last week by devastating comments from a magistrate on the failing memory of the 81-year-old American president. This observation was rejected by Joe Biden’s camp.

Former Republican President Donald Trump has been accused in recent years of playing into Russia’s hands. He aroused European indignation by threatening in a recent outburst to encourage Russia to attack NATO countries whose defense spending is considered insufficient.

Tucker Carlson during his interview with Vladimir Putin.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday he was grateful to American presenter Tucker Carlson for his widely watched interview and his role as “intermediary” with the West.

“Since we are not able to have a direct dialogue today (…) we should be grateful to Mr. Carlson for being able to do it through him,” declared Mr. Putin, questioned by a journalist and in remarks broadcast by the Kremlin.

Mr. Putin, however, said he was “not fully satisfied” by this long interview, the first he has given to a Western journalist since the start of the Russian offensive in Ukraine, broadcast this week and watched by more than 200 million viewers. times on

The Russian president said he expected “aggressive” behavior and “difficult questions” from the former star Fox News host. “I was not only prepared for this, but I wanted it, because it would give me the opportunity to respond in the same way,” Mr. Putin said.

However, Mr. Carlson “tried to interrupt me several times, but in a surprising way,” continued the Russian president, who nevertheless praised the “patience” of the conservative American journalist, who notably listened to a long lesson in very subjective story of Vladimir Putin during this interview.

“But he went hard, in his own way. According to his plan,” said Mr. Putin, who also complained that his remarks were then “distorted” in the West.

In this message lasting more than two hours to the Americans and Europeans, Mr. Putin notably assured that a defeat for Russia in Ukraine was “impossible” while saying he was ready for a “dialogue” with the West.
