Jaime Bonilla will not be able to rejoin as a senator, determines the Regional Chamber of the TEPJF


The Guadalajara Regional Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Power of the Federation (TEPJF) determined that the former governor of Baja California, Jaime Bonilla, will not be able to rejoin as senator of the Republic.

Unanimously, the magistrates of the Regional Room They decided to nullify the reincorporation act that Bonilla presented to the Senate of the Republic.

The foregoing, since there is a legal impediment for the citizen to return to office, after having served as Governor during the validity of an indefinite license approved by the Senate.

The magistrates explained that by swearing in as state president, Bonilla opted for said popularly elected position and exhausted his right to choose between the two. For this reason, he joined the Board of Directors of the Senate to call the alternate to return to office.
