JAC wants to permeate the Mexican market with new electric cars

Sahagún City, Hidalgo.- Elías Massri, director of Giant Motors Latinoamérica (GML)said that the new battery assembly line and commercialization of the E10X subcompact from the automaker JAC, will be the beginning of the democratization of 100% electric cars among Mexican consumers and this will allow them to move towards more environmentally friendly vehicles.

Within the framework of JACday, the manager whose partner is Carlos Slim Helú and who joined forces with JAC Motors For this to be the first to market electric cars in Mexico, he said that the time has come for the country to be part of the electrical transformation, because the global automotive industry has taken a turn to contribute to the fight against climate change.

JAC Motors recalled that the Hidalgo plant has the capacity to produce 60,000 units per year, and offers a range of electric vehicle options, from fleet trucks to small E10X.

JAC E10X has an eco drive autonomy of 380 kilometers, a 30.2 kilometers per hour lithium ion battery, urban and environmentally friendly unit.

“Our goal is to democratize electric vehicles in our country, with the firm conviction that Mexico and its consumers deserve this technology,” said Isidoro Massri, general director of JAC Motors Mexico.

In November 2019 the first line of electric cars was announced, 100% assembled in Hidalgo by JAC Mexico. “Today we are a benchmark in Mexico and the world in the assembly of electric vehicles,” said the governor.

In 2020, JAC introduced three battery-powered versions of its trucks, Sei 1, Sei 2 and Sei 4, and subsequently launched a family of three electric vehicles for last-mile deliveries, helping boost sales of battery-powered models. in recent months.

From January to October of this year, the Chinese brand sold 6,049 units, which represented an increase of 84.4% against 3,281 vehicles in the same period of 2020.

The E10X is the first electric vehicle in the subcompact segment, which will cost from 416,000 to 425,000 pesos, and will be available from January 2022.
