An issue where Telus customers could not hear 911 operators has been resolved, the Edmonton Police Service says.

On Monday afternoon, Edmonton police issued an advisory that Telus customers who were calling 911 were having difficulties hearing operators but the operators could still hear the caller.

Operators were calling the caller back when the issue occurred.

A Telus spokesperson said the issue occurred in select locations in BC and Alberta.

By 6 pm, the dispatch center had resolved the issue.
