Israel extends fourth dose of Covid vaccination to people over 18 at risk

The Israeli Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday that people at risk older than 18 will be able to get a fourth dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Israel was one of the first countries to launch mass vaccination campaigns against Covid-19 for its population.

Last summer, authorities began administering booster doses and since then the government has approved a fourth dose for the elderly and vulnerable population groups.

The director of the Ministry of Health, Nachman Ash, announced on Wednesday that all immunosuppressed people and frontline workers over the age of 18 will be able to receive a fourth dose.

More than 600,000 Israeli citizens, out of a total population of 9.4 million, received a fourth dose of the vaccine, according to figures from the Ministry of Health.
