IPN announces return to face-to-face classes from January 31

The National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) announced this Wednesday that as of next January 31, the face-to-face classes on their campuses, and teachers and the Education Support and Assistance Staff They will resume their activities from January 4, all this under strict sanitation measures.

Almost two years after the Covid-19 pandemic, the IPN assured, through a statement, that the house of studies will start the 2022-2 semester in person thanks to all the learning acquired and the strengthened resilience capacity, this after having suspended attendance since March 2020.

During the Third Ordinary Session of the XL General Consultative Council of the IPN, the general director of the IPN, Arturo Reyes SandovalHe assured that in the coming days the Institute’s Administration Secretariat will issue a circular with the details of the return.

In turn, Reyes Sandoval indicated that in the first weeks of January 2022, “the Academic, Research and Postgraduate secretariats will hold meetings with the directors of the academic units and the heads of the postgraduate sections, to define the details of the return, within the framework of the Stepped Human Back-to-School Program (PEHRC) and the Comprehensive Back-to-Activities Plan (PIRA) of each polytechnic agency, as well as institutional and federal regulations ”.



The director thanked the students, teachers, support staff, scientists and the entire management team, for giving their best effort to face the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

He highlighted that the 2021-2022 School Cycle began with an enrollment of 221,047 students, distributed in the three educational levels, as well as in the continuing education and language programs offered by the Institute; which represents an increase of 4.35% compared to the previous cycle.

He also highlighted that despite the Covid-19 pandemic, this year 33,793 students graduated in total from the upper secondary, higher and postgraduate levels, which saw an increase of 73% compared to 2020.

Contributions of the IPN stand out to face Covid-19

The director general of the IPN highlighted the participation of the Polytechnic in the International Commission of Experts, convened by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to contribute to the global work for the development of a vaccine against Covid-19.

At the same time, he highlighted the construction of mechanical ventilators, the development of infrared thermometers and face masks with nanoparticle filters, the manufacture of masks and intubation boxes for medical personnel, as well as the creation of the geographic data visualization platform of the pandemic and the Covid-19 data variation analysis platform, all this at the hands of polytechnics.

He thanked the undergraduate doctors and social service providers of the Nursing Degree, who have been in the first line of care for patients infected by Covid-19. He also thanked the brigade members and volunteers who participated in the Covid-19 Vaccination Days.
