The Canadian Olympic Committee’s feasibility team confirmed that technical experts will be in Vancouver to help local organizers develop their Games bid as part of the services the IOC offers.

“Such services include an IOC technical site visit to assist potential hosts and their National Olympic Committees to develop their Games projects,” said the COC in a statement. Part of this includes reviewing the master plan and venue options and providing suggestions and input on the process.

“The technical visit will also provide the future Host Commission with an update on the future games project,” it said.

Vancouver’s 2030 bid is in an exploratory phase. Last December, four BC First Nations — Musqueam, Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh, and Líl̓wat — announced a memorandum of understanding with Vancouver and Whistler to assess the feasibility of hosting an Olympics and Paralympic Games for 2030.

The groups have signed an agreement with the COC, which will conduct a feasibility assessment on the plan.
