Interior foresees a return operation of Sant Joan “very difficult”

The Secretary General of the Interior, Oriol Amorós, has predicted this Friday that on Sunday the return operation of the bridge of Sant Joan will be “very difficult”. In an interview in ‘El Món a RAC1’, Amorós explained that Trànsit will reinforce all measures to guarantee mobility but has asked “patience” and “prudence” to the citizenry.

To facilitate the return of thousands of vehicles, he has indicated that the Generalitat It will enable more than 100 kilometers of additional lanes on the AP-7 north and south and on the C-32 north and south. The movement of freight transport will also be limited. Transit forecast that the exit operation ends this Friday at 3:00 p.m..

During the interview in RAC1, Amorós has calculated that until this Friday at 8:00 a.m. they had left 60% of the vehicles foreseen in the operation leaving the Sant Joan bridge. Thus, for this Friday until 3:00 p.m. Trànsit estimates that there are 40% of vehicles that will be moved.

To facilitate the mobility of this long weekend, Amorós has asked that citizens be informed in advance about the state of the roads and distribute the trips throughout the days. “Exit operations like today’s show that the road network has limits and we need different and alternative mobility,” he stressed. By the person in charge of the Interior, these tips have already been followed by dozens of drivers in the last few hours.
