Interim collective agreements reached for more than 8,000 New Brunswick nurses

FREDERICTON, NB –

The provincial government and the union representing New Brunswick nurses have reached an interim agreement on new contracts.

The agreement with more than 8,000 nurses in two bargaining units represented by the New Brunswick Nurses Union follows three days of negotiations this week.

Last week, nurses voted 92 percent in favor of a strike to support demands for a new contract.

Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Nurse Practitioners have no contract as of late 2018.

The union president, Paula Doucet, says the union is recommending the approval of the new agreements.

Details are pending ratification.
