INE clarifies that its trusts cannot be used for the mandate revocation consultation

The National Electoral Institute (INE) reported that as of November 1, the trusts with which it has a balance of 1,353 million pesos, but only 626 million are available and they cannot be used for other purposes.

The national electoral body specified that the first trust for labor liabilities is made up of 527.57 million pesos, of which 320 will be disbursed for the voluntary retirement program.

The second is real estate infrastructure of INE facilities throughout the country, and which has 623.48 million pesos, of which 381.3 million are committed.

He detailed that the third trust is for the improvement of citizen service modules, and is integrated with resources from agreements with financial institutions for data verification.

It has 202.04 million pesos, of which 25.64 are committed to improve the spaces where citizens are served to process the declaration to vote.

It should be noted that the full Chamber of Deputies This Thursday, it generally approved the Expenditure Budget for 2022, with a cut of 4.913 million pesos to the INE budget.

The coordinator of Brunette in the lower house, Ignacio Mier Velazco, warned that there will be no going back to what was approved by the plenary in general, and asked the INE to use its trusts to pay for the consultation next year on revocation of the presidential mandate.

He assured that the INE “have the resources, that they start to review in their trusts, they have already recognized that they have almost 1,800 million pesos,” said Mier.
