The Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (Indotel) convened an international public tender for the “Hiring of a consultancy to prepare the cost study that will be used in the procedure for setting interconnection charges” that is registered between the service companies of telecommunications in the country.
The call is made within the framework of the initiation “ex officio” by the Indotel board of directors, of the Procedure for setting the interconnection charges between the providers established in the regulations for rates and costs of services.
The decision to initiate the procedure for setting the interconnection charges is contained in resolution number 104-2021, which in turn instructs the executive director, Julissa Cruz, to summon the providers Altice, Claro, Viva, Onemax and Windtelecom to a public hearing within a period of no more than 30 days to hear this provision.
The setting of interconnection charges between telephone companies is of particular importance for the regulator, since this procedure affects the costs and rates of telecommunications services companies and impacts final prices to users.
Bid
When offering the information, the president of the Indotel board of directors, Nelson Arroyo, also said that the tender is carried out in compliance with provisions contained in the laws that govern purchases and public contracting of goods, services, works and concessions in the public administration.
He indicated that those interested in participating in this tender can withdraw the specifications by contacting Indotel, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon.
Arroyo reported that these documents can also be downloaded at the Indotel portals and of the General Directorate of Public Procurement and Contracting (DGCP).
He indicated that the proposals will be received in sealed envelopes until ten in the morning on December 28, 2021.
The opening ceremony of the technical offers will be held that same day at 11:00 am in the presence of a Notary Public, at the Indotel headquarters located at 962 Abraham Lincoln Avenue, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
“All interested parties must be registered in the State Suppliers Registry administered by the General Directorate of Public Procurement and have the corresponding item,” said Arroyo.
