INAH condemns acts of vandalism in El Ángel, the ENAH leadership is demarcated

After the protest carried out this Wednesday by students and teachers of the National School of Anthropology and History (ENAH) in front of the INAH facilities, the protesters went to the Angel of Independence on Avenida Paseo de la Reforma where some of them graffiti the walls of the monument with slogans demanding the budget and demanding the resignation of authorities.

“Budget for the ENAH” and “Diego out”, read the pints, which were immediately condemned in separate statements by both the INAH and the ENAH Directorate itself.

“The National Institute of Anthropology and History strongly condemns the acts of vandalism perpetrated against the Angel of Independence, a monument of enormous historical value and endearing to all Mexicans,” said the institution in a statement released on social networks.

He added that in the same way “rejects that under the protection of demands of a labor and budgetary nature of the National School of Anthropology and History, which have been attending, these acts that threaten our cultural heritage are carried out.”

In the same way, the ENAH leadership stated: “The Directorate of the National School of Anthropology and History disagrees and condemns the acts of vandalism carried out today (January 5) against the Angel of Independence, as well as the headquarters of the National Institute of Anthropology and History ”.

And it reaffirmed its commitment to the temporary workers of the school, “whose legitimate demands are being followed up through institutional channels,” stated the campus leadership, and called for dialogue.
