In LaSalle — where police had warned the community in advance that they would be monitoring for impaired driving — a RIDE program on Thursday resulted in two license suspensions.

The suspensions are for a period of three days.

LaSalle police said their RIDE program involved officers posted at three locations throughout the jurisdiction. A total of 11 roadside tests were conducted.

Meanwhile, in Windsor, police responded to a collision scene on Ottawa Street around 11:20 pm — between Benjamin Avenue and Langlois Avenue.

Following an investigation, a 46-year-old male was arrested and charged with impaired driving.

Police said the collision resulted in two people being taken to hospital for treatment — but there were no critical injuries.

Windsor police ask anyone who witnessed the incident to call traffic investigators at 519-255-6700 ext. 4000.

Anonymous tips can be made via Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 or catchcrooks.com.
