Idefin announces the construction of a new hotel in Bacalar

Cancún, QRoo.- The Institute for Investment and Development of Quintana Roo (Idefin) announced that the Boca de Agua Group SAPI de CV made official its investment plans in the south of Quintana Roo with the start-up of the construction of the Boca de Agua Hotel, in Bacalar.

An investment of 8 million dollars is projected and the generation of more than 120 jobs for the entity; The project will integrate the best of the ecosystems and the biodiversity of flora and fauna, with innovation and development, it will incorporate better offers in the hotel industry through the use of renewable energies, being friendly to the environment; the above in order to create an unbeatable environment for those who visit Bacalar, an emerging destination that, without a doubt, is a great attraction within the Mexican Caribbean, explained Bernardo Cueta Riestro, Idefin director.

“The competitive advantages of the South of the state make it the ideal home for this type of project. This investment will mark a before and after in the hotel and tourism development of Bacalar, bringing with it the consolidation of the demand for more projects in this area, oriented to develop under sustainability, technology and innovation schemes ”, added the official.

This development will consist of 32 cabins, a pier piloted over the lagoon of Bacalar, parking, as well as common areas and services.

The attraction of investments is a transversal effort, since different state entities are making efforts to attract new capital for infrastructure, productive investment and strengthening of the tourism industry, Cueto Riestra explained.

In a previous interview, Eduardo Ortiz Jasso, director of the Quintana Roo Strategic Projects Agency, recalled that they are promoting large infrastructure projects for Quintana Roo. Among the most important, he mentioned two highway extensions in the Cancun-Tulum sections, of 113 kilometers and an investment of 977 million pesos, as well as the Tulum-Bacalar section with a length of 207 kilometers and an investment of 1,807 million pesos.

Rodrigo Juárez, founder and CEO of Water mouthcommented that the government of Quintana Roo, through the Idefin, has been an ally for the realization of the project. “Without the support of the state authorities we would not be making it happen and, above all, we would not have the certainty of investing in the south of the state. We were given support to follow up procedures at the federal, state and municipal level ”.
