How to get to the new Santa Lucía Airport by bus?


A few days after the Felipe Ángeles Airport (AIFA) begins its operations, passenger ground transportation companies are beginning to prepare to also launch routes that can facilitate the mobility of new passengers.

On March 21, along with the inauguration of the air terminal located at the Santa Lucía Military Base, the new transportation services will also come into operation. The bus brands that have so far confirmed the opening of their new routes are TMT-Caminante, Pullman de Morelos and Primera Plus (subsidiaries of Grupo IAMSA) and Estrella Roja.

Walker

The Caminante transportation service to the new airport will be offered in Sprinter units from the Patio Santa Fe and Central Poniente Observatorio terminals in Mexico City; in addition to the Tollocan terminal in Toluca.

The cost of the single trip is 430 pesos with an approximate transfer time of three hours, depending on weather and traffic conditions.

Pullman of Morelos

Pullman de Morelos recently announced that its routes to the AIFA They will depart from Cuernavaca, Morelos, at the Cuernavaca Casino terminal, however, the price of the ticket has not been disclosed.

  • Departure from Cuernavaca Casino at 6:30 a.m. and return at 3:30 p.m.

First plus

In the case of Primera Plus, it will have four routes to the new air terminal, departing from Querétaro and San Juan del Río.

Estrella Blanca and ADO, waiting

However, they have not yet disclosed all their routes, schedules or fares, they have only published promotional messages inviting their customers to be aware of upcoming announcements.

According to the plans of the federal government, the options to access the Felipe Ángeles International Airport will increase as various works are completed, such as the expansion of the Suburban Train.

At the beginning of last February, in an interview with The Economistthe Undersecretary of Infrastructure of the SICT, Jorge Nuño, assured that the passengers and workers of the new air terminal will be able to arrive by two land accesses, one of them, San Jerónimo, in charge of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT ), which includes a junction in the cargo area and a military one, which will connect to the terminal building.

While the government of the State of Mexico will deliver the junction that connects the Circuito Exterior Mexiquense with the main entrance of the terminal.

As for public transport, for the inauguration it is expected that a station of the Mexibus that arrives from Ojo de Agua, from line 1 and that departs from the terminal aztec city.

For the medium term, the official assured that a direct connection between the Mexico City International Airport (AICM) and the new terminal in a “maximum of 40 minutes” (with some toll sections) and one more to get there from the Xochimilco area.

The connectivity program developed for the AIFA It has 24 projects that involve an investment of 106,232 million pesos, which have federal, state and private origin. The level of progress of each project is different, they will be incorporated gradually.
