Holiday closure weekends planned on Highways 20 and 30, Champlain Bridge

Multiple road closures are planned for the Montreal region this holiday weekend, and Quebec’s transportation department suggests motorists plan routes carefully to avoid them.

For example, Highway 20 east will be closed at the St-Pierre Interchange, and there will be long-term closures at the interchange of Highways 13 and 520 as of Monday.

Highway 20 at the St-Pierre Interchange: From Thursday at 11:59 pm to Tuesday at 5 am, Highway 20 east will be closed between Exit 63 (leading to Route 138 west and the Mercier Bridge) and the next on-ramp to the 20. For the same period, the on -ramp from Highway 20 west to Route 138 west/Mercier Bridge will be closed.

Highway 30/Madeleine-Parent Bridge: From 8 pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday to 6 am the next day, Highway 30 eastward will be closed between Exit 13 (for the 30 west) and the entry to Route 236 (at Kilometre 22), including the Madeleine-Parent Bridge, which spans the Beauharnois Canal. During the same periods, the 30 westward will be closed between Exit 22 (Route 236, St-Louis Rd., St-Étienne-de-Beauharnois) and Highway 530, including the Madeleine-Parent Bridge.

On the Champlain Bridge between Montreal and Brossard toward the South Shore, two of three lanes will be closed overnight Friday and Saturday, from 11 pm to noon the next day.
