A groundbreaking rescue at Golden Ears Provincial Park helped save a man who had recently slipped into fast and dangerous waters.
On Thanksgiving Monday, a man fell off the rocks near Lower Falls and clung to a rock.
Fortunately, a group of hikers passed by and saw the man and jumped into action to help him.
The five men removed their turbans and, using some of their clothes, tied them together on a rope and used it to carry the stranded hiker to safety.
Ridge Meadows Search and Rescue praised the men for what they did.
“I’ve never heard of something like this before and it was pretty impressive,” Ridge Meadows Search and Rescue’s Rick Laing told Global News.
