Due to Friday’s massive Rogers outage that has cut internet and cell phone service and interfered with payment systems, BC Place vendors can only accept credit card or cash-to-card payments for purchases, BC Place said. in a tweet on Friday.

People can convert their cash into a special card to use in the stadium at kiosks located in Sections 235 and 251 of the concourse, he said.

Debit cards will not work as the Rogers outage affected debit payment services.

BC Place vendors also don’t accept cash payments, having switched to a “contactless” experience last year.

The cash-to-card system allows guests to purchase a gift voucher with a unique code that can be used to purchase food and beverage and concessions on the concourse.

The Rogers outage began early Friday and affected a wide range of services and businesses across Canada. There has been no estimate from the telecom company as to when the issue will be fixed.
